A dream is coming true...

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”  3 John 1:4

Our Swazi trip preparations are in full swing. Because our family has been spread out over 4 states, we have been meeting over Zoom as we work through the itinerary, expectations, ministry and cultural preparations, and logistics. One of the unexpected joys that we are seeing come to fruition, is watching our children who are now adults take leadership over the ministry areas.

Cody is preparing to lead trainings on trauma in our bodies from his Master’s in Mental and Clinical Health degree. Melissa is equipped to speak from her training as a doula as well as leadership from her years of experience as a Resident Director on college campuses. Lauren is excited to facilitate our smaller group times and lead with the children. Jake is going to lead worship at our gatherings. Abby is organizing the Fun Day at the Carepoint and speaking on developing community. Sam is organizing our devotions and preparing to preach. Laila is ready to jump in wherever she is needed and is excited to visit her home country for the first time since she was adopted in 2009! Everyone is leading our team in daily devotionals and are ready to serve in any way needed.

Our dream is becoming a reality

Since 2006, when Beyond Survival began, Rick and I have been leading this ministry. We have taken over 120 people on mission’s trips to Eswatini. We have had a team as large as 36 all the way to a team of 2 and everything in between. Each team has a unique DNA to it. Each team is uniquely formed by God with unique roles to play. We have always designed our trips around the team that God sends us, seeking to utilize the gifts and strengths that are represented. No matter the size, every year, God has revealed his purpose for each person participating and why He brings who he brings.

This year’s trip is a dream come true for us. Seeing our family serve together and watching our kids lead will be a very full circle moment from those early days when God began to burden our hearts for this small country in Africa. We have no idea all that God is going to do, but we believe He is in this,  and He has a plan for this time.

We believe God has already gone before us and stirred the hearts of His people to help us get to Eswatini, together. We have seen His hand of provision from the beginning. This whole mission, from the beginning, has been a faith journey. He has provided for every trip that we have led. He has supplied the resources to meet the many needs through Beyond Survival over the years. Now, we are trusting in

His provision for this next step of faith that we are taking.

Would you prayerfully consider helping our family financially get to Eswatini?

Would you consider partnering with us?

We invite you into this next step through your prayers and support. This year, we opened this trip to anyone who wanted to go with us. There were many over the last few months that expressed interest. As the deadline to commit approached, we saw the numbers dwindling to only our family. We believe that God is even in this part of the process and has a specific plan and purpose for our family to go as a team of 9.

If He is stirring your heart to partner with us, we invite you to give towards this historic trip.  Thanks so much for your friendship, prayers, and encouragement.
