The Day our family was complete

16 years ago today, our family was made complete! We landed on U.S. soil after 6 very challenging weeks in Eswatini completing the adoption of Isaiah and Laila. We were finally all together as a family after one of the most faith building, life altering, miracle-filled journeys of our lives.

God had taken the calling He placed on us to Swaziland, Africa in 2006, and expanded it to the calling of our adoption. Even before we got married, we talked about the dream of having 6 children. We didn’t know what that dream meant when we first got married, but knew it was something special and we both were in agreement.  We could not have begun to imagine how God would form our family over the years. Adoption was not on the radar, but God had different plans.

It's almost Time

The miracles that He did to fulfill this calling are too many to list in this post. Bottom line, what God called us to, He equipped, empowered, and provided for. There is no doubt His hand was leading and guiding us. That does not mean it was an easy process. It was truly one of the most difficult paths to take with many obstacles and roadblocks along the way.  Many of you know the challenges because you have journeyed with our family over the years.

Today, as we remember all that God has done, we also look ahead to the next big milestone on this journey, our trip in July!  We are thrilled to take Laila back as a family to see her homeland and to serve her people. She was almost 10 months old when we brought her home. She has no memories, but has heard the stories and seen the pictures from our many years of ministry in Eswatini.

Just as we leaned into our faith for our adoption back in 2009, we are leaning into this next step, believing that God has orchestrated this opportunity for our family. We are trusting His provision in this process. So many of you have been with us along the way.

Would you consider partnering with us?

We invite you into this next step through your prayers and support. This year, we opened this trip to anyone who wanted to go with us. There were many over the last few months that expressed interest. As the deadline to commit approached, we saw the numbers dwindling to only our family. We believe that God is even in this part of the process and has a specific plan and purpose for our family to go as a team of 9.

If He is stirring your heart to partner with us, we invite you to give towards this historic trip.  Thanks so much for your friendship, prayers, and encouragement.
